Law Firms Area

Recent changes to the legal system are starting to impact law firms on an ever-increasing basis. The Law Society estimates that around 800 legal practices will close simply as a result of the Legal Aid shake-up alone, and that’s without the additional impact of the other changes such as the Companies Act 2006, which will surely make that number increase further.

The time to act is now, to make sure your firm protects it’s existing fee income and replaces the lost income from your Legal Aid revenue stream by picking up more private paying client business. More and more businesses are protecting themselves with additional Liability insurance, such as Directors & Officers cover, Floatation cover, Employment practices cover and Pension trustee cover. If your clients are insured and have a claim, the chances are, their insurers will direct them to one of their “panel” firms. Your client will have very little choice in the matter and you will lose valuable income from one of your clients. Unfair? We think so.

Join Director Protection and make sure this doesn’t happen.

If you become one of Director Protection’s introducing Law Firms, the benefits will include:

  • Your firm automatically receives your clients’ case should an incident arise.*
  • You join our Legal panel and receive additional fee business from us.
  • Your firm receives commission for all clients introduced.
  • You protect your existing private client fee income.
  • Helps your firm grow by bringing in additional fee income.
  • Gives your firm another added value service.
  • Your firm complies with Law Society good practice rules on D&O Insurance.
If you don’t help your clients get insurance to cover their legal fees should a problem arise, you risk losing the client forever or at the very least the fee income from that work. A rival law firm may offer this service which undermines your firm, or the client may have insurance through his usual insurance broker – either way your firm loses.

Act now and contact David Riley at Director Protection for an appointment to discuss your options.

* Provided your Law Firm has the in-house expertise to deal with the claim.
